Lesley Hook is a mixed media artist, drawing inspiration from her family and home life in Devon. Her paintings can develop a symbolic narrative, beginning with the large bold marks of bright colours, which are then honed into still lifes of painted patchwork and embroidery, vases, flowers and fruit, and  landscapes which echo the same textile-inspired designs. Layer after layer the paintings develop, hoping to find a way in which to engage with the viewer and bring a feeling of warmth and heart.
